Matt Penning is a rising sophomore at JMU. He started swimming at the age
of 6 for the Ridgewood Barracudas swim team and has been swimming ever since! He has had the opportunity to experience
different coaching styles through swimming for year round (OCCS and QDD), summer (Ridgewood and Victory Lakes), and high school
(Woodbridge) teams. Over the years he has accumulated quite a few awards; MVP of his high school team Sophomore and
Senior Year; Scholastic All-American Junior Year; Potomac News All-Area First Teamer Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Year; State
meet qualifier in individual events all 4 years; Team record holder in 100 Fly; Regional Champion 100 Breast Senior Year; and
Team Captain Senior Year. He had the option to swim for a Division 1 college team, but instead decided to diversify with
sports. He currently plays club waterpolo, intramural basketball, and swims for the JMU club team. Matt is in his
fifth year of coaching, and this is his 3rd year as an assistant head coach. His coaching speciality is fly and
breaststroke and he is excited to get to know all of the swimmers! |
| Jesse Dunn |

My name is Jessica Dunn and I am going into my sophomore year as a Nursing major at Saint Francis
University in PA. I am thrilled to be an assistant coach for Bridlewood this summer and I am excited to get the season
started! I have been swimming since I was eight and I love it so much that I currently swim for a NCAA Division I University
where I was fortunate enough to get an athletic scholarship. I attended Seton School where I swam and made the State and
National teams every year. I was team captain and earned All-Conference and All-State honors. I lettered all six years
(junior high and high school) that I swam for Seton and I was a recipient of the Coaches Award, the Most Improved Award, the
High Point Girls' Award and am in Seton's Hall of Fame. Along with high school swimming, I also swam year-round with QDD for
four years. I was also a member of the National Honor Society and was student body Vice-President my senior year. I became a
Scholastic All-American my junior and senior years. I have been swimming in the PWSL since 7th grade and I previously coached
for Braemar. I can't wait to meet all of you and start an enjoyable and successful season! |
